As we agreed that the salaries will be given as per JACK policy and the =
appraisal to be conducted after three months probationary period =
completion. Since the appraisals have been done and the salaries are =
increased in consideration of JACK policy and staff motivational =
aspects. Therefore the DCT will be revised based on revised actual =
salaries as per new contracts.=20

The transportation matter is shared with Sarwari sahib and also =
discussed in our first coordination meeting where agreed upon best =
practice that the field monitoring staff will be compensated for their =
daily travels based on JACK policy and in consideration of distance =
span. Since it is JACK responsibility to implement the project therefore =
we are seriously looking to each activity and managing with all possible =
best result without effecting the project performance. Furthermore, an =
evaluation will also be conducted for transportation cost in near future =
and the results will be discussed with field coordinators to bring any =
possible adjustment if required.=20

Thank you for the submission of the DCT for the second installment. I =
went through it and noticed two things which need to be revised. You =
have requested the monthly salary for the teacher trainers and district =
education coordinators 60,661 AFN and for the social organizer 36,536 =
AFN in the second DCT but while checking the staff new contracts which =
you have signed with them till 31st of Dec 2023, their salaries are less =
then requested. You may recall it that in the first quarterly meeting we =
have communicated it and suggested to pay the exact requested amount of =
monthly salary to your field staff since they are the real workforce of =
the CBE program spending all their time in remote districts and areas =
and paying them less than actual requested amount is not fair and it =
will also impact the CBE program in terms of proper monitoring and =
achieving the goal.

=20

Also based on the ground reality, JACK pays a smaller amount of =
monitoring cost to the field staff, with provision of this small amount =
of transportation cost, I do not think the field staff will be able to =
cover their cost reaching out remote areas for the monitoring purpose of =
CBE/ALC classes which are hundreds of kilometers away inside districts.

We suggest you pay the requested amount of salary and monitoring cost to =
each field staff and if you agree amending the salary portion their =
contracts and pay the requested amount then let us know through this =
email chain so that we can process this DCT otherwise please revise it =
and request the actual amount of salary written in their new employment =
contracts and send it us today before COB
