Please refer to the JACK-COVID-19 response hospital Kunduz Province updated
bulletin for the 4th week of August 2022 (17 to 24 Aug 2022).

1.     1428 clients who were suspected of having COVID-19 underwent COVID-19
screening (661 males and 767 females).

2.     597 suspect COVID-19 cases samples were sent to PCR for COVID-19
confirmation (176 males and 421 females).

a.      Out of 597 PCR tested for COVID-19, 109 PCR Tests were confirmed
positive for COVID-19 (36 males and 73 females)

b.      Thirty-five (35) new PCR and clinically positive cases were admitted
to the hospital (IPD) (10 males and 25 females).

c.      Forty-six (46) patients have recovered and have been discharged from
the hospital (13 males and 33 females).

d.     No death has been reported from the COVID-19 hospital Kunduz in the
4th week of August 2022.

e.       In 340 different sessions, a total of 13,037 individuals have
received health education and awareness of COVID-19.

3.     A total of 204 COVID-19 confirmed patients' friends, relatives, and
family members have been contacted and traced for COVID-19 suspicion.

4.     The average Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) was 201% from 17 to 24 Aug 2022.

Note:

The current situation and data from Kunduz indicate that the PRC test
positivity rate increased by 18.25%, and the BOR for the 4th week was 201%,
which might increase.

The COVID-19 hospital run by JACK with support from AHF/UNOCHA is the only
dedicated hospital for COVID-19 management in the region. Since the current
contract of the mentioned hospital ended on 24th August 2022, therefore, I
would like to draw your kind attention to the matter for any possible option
we might have to maintain the services of this hospital beyond August to
make sure the services are provided without any interruption
