east 16 additional checkpoints along main and secondary roads leading towar=
ds the broader Dasht-e Barchi area in PD 13 and PD 6. A map detailing the c=
onfirmed additional checkpoints is attached to this alert, although further=
 unreported checkpoints may be located along other secondary roads.<br /><b=

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">IEA forces are reportedly blocking all =
vehicles from entering the area, while closely controlling all pedestrians =
seeking to enter Dasht-e Barchi and questioning them about their intended d=
estination as well as personal background.<br /><br />Network coverage with=
in Dasht-e Barchi has deteriorated substantially, with residents who left t=
he area reporting having had no network access as of the time of writing.<b=
r /><br />The additional IEA deployment is related to heightened security m=
easures in Hazara-majority communities, in anticipation of Ashura Day comme=
moration ceremonies and in response to recent OAG attacks. As such, access =
constraints for travel into Dasht-e Barchi are expected to last for up to 4=
8 hours.<br /><br />NGOs are advised to avoid the area and adjust movements=
.<br /><br />NGO staff living in Dasht-e Barchi should expect additional tr=
avel time and intensified scrutiny at checkpoints when moving to and from t=
