Dear Nutrition Cluster Colleagues:

I would like to share 2020 Regional Overview of Food Security and Nutrition 
in Asia and the Pacific - UN Report (please kindly see the email chain for 
the links to the report).

This report includes, but not limited to the following, describing wasting, 
stunting, and overweight/obesity among children by wealth status. It also 
shows that overweight/obesity in adults has increased in 2016 comparing to 
year 2000. It shows the co-existence of both under and over nutrition.

It also describes what percentage of children are receiving Minimum Dietary 
Diversity (MDD), Minimum Meal Frequency (MMF), Minimum Acceptable Diet (MAD) 
(For definition of these indicators: this is a good reference source --

(i.e. South Asia Region; East Asia and Pacific Region) and at a specific 
country level including Afghanistan.

Dear colleagues,

The 2020 report of Food Security and Nutrition in Asia and Pacific has been 
released.  The report - put together by the regional offices of FAO, UNICEF, 
WFP and WHO – focuses on the following:

*	progress in meeting the food security and nutrition indicators under SDG 2 
(Part 1)
*	challenges and possible solutions to improve maternal and child diets in 
the Asia and Pacific region (Part 2)

The report warns that the  economic impact of COVID-19 and worsening 
inequalities will fuel malnutrition for billions in Asia and the Pacific - 
Child and maternal diets particularly vulnerable.
