Dear IMC colleagues,

Greetings from JACK ,

Following is the update of COVID-19 in Kunduz province in the reporting 
period; we share such updates with UN-OCHA and other stakeholders like WHO, 
UNICEF and so on; if your agree I will share our inputs regarding COVID-19 
in Kunduz with you on weekly basis

1.	1,475 people received health education through RRTs ( Rapid Response 
Teams) from these people 779 are male and 678 are female
2.	1,277 people are screened for COVID-19 through RRTs and District Centers 
and from these 1,277 people (773 are male and 504 are female)
3.	454 people are advised home quarantine and from these people 272 are male 
and 182 are female.
4.	1120 samples are collected from suspected people and sent to PCR for 
testing from these people 632 male and 488 female
5.	474 people resulted positive from PCR and from these 474 persons ( 258 
male and 216 are female)
6.	Positivity rate in the reporting week is 42% which is very high
7.	895 persons are contact traced through phone and reported and from these 
people 478 are male and 417 female.
8.	566 people received OPD services and from these 566 people (345 are male 
and 221 are female)
9.	BOR ( Bed Occupancy Rate) is reported 109% average
10.	ICU (Intensive Care Unit) occupancy rate is reported 159%
11.	517 people received COVID-19 vaccination doses and from these 517 ( 334 
male, 183 female)
12.	4343 are reported ARI ( Acute Respiratory Infection) cases from BPHS 
health facilities
13.	740 are reported suspected of COVID-19 from BPHS health facilities in 
the reporting period

External Monitoring:

1.	High ranking representatives from MoPH ( Ministry of Public Health ) 
visited the COVID-19 hospital
2.	Kunduz PPHD had several visit from COVID-19 hospital of Kunduz
3.	Deputy governor of Kunduz visited from Kunduz COVID-19 hospital
4.	Several Medias visited the COVID-19 hospital
5.	Civic society representative visited COVID-19 hospital
6.	MSF and other stakeholders visited COVID-19 hospital

Support from Stakeholders:

1.	MSF Kunduz provided 10 oxygen concentrators for till end of this peak of 
COVID-19 then JACK will back submit to them.
2.	Kunduz PPHD provided to Kunduz COVID-19 hospital the beds, and oxygen 
concentrators

Challenges:

1.	People transfer the patients from their homes at the end stage to 
COVID-19 hospital and the recovery of these people is very difficult
2.	Private hospitals and clinics in Kunduz first admit the COVID-19 patients 
then when the patient became severe and critical and went to end stage then 
they refer to Kunduz COVID-19 hospital
