hrs:</strong> Road conditions remain poor across Daykundi Province. Previou=
sly indicated main roads in Miramor, Shahristan, and Kiti districts remain =
inaccessible due to heavy snowfall.<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">As of the time of writing, main roads l=
eading from Nili to the districts have been cut off for all traffic, along =
with a majority of secondary roads in the countryside. Local officials cont=
inue to conduct road clearance operations along key roads.<br /><br /></div=

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">Following the extended road closures, i=
ncreased traffic congestion has been reported along main highways leading i=
nto the province, in particular along the Bamyan-Nili Highway. Accommodatio=
n along the road is reportedly overbooked due to unplanned overnight stays =
of motorists unable to continue their travel.<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">The previous advisory on reviewing exis=
ting travel plans and observing increased road safety measures for any trav=
el within Daykundi Province remains in place.<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">NGOs are advised to take note of the ex=
tended route closures across the province and should confirm the viability =
of any planned travel with local partners prior to departure.<br /><br /><b=
r /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong style=3D"text-align: justify;">=
As of 04 January, 0930 hrs:</strong><span style=3D"text-align: justify;"> A=
s of 03 January, IEA officials closed down access to multiple key main road=
s in Daykundi Province due to deteriorating weather and road conditions.<br=
 /><br /></span><span style=3D"text-align: justify;">The Nili-Bamyan Highwa=
y has been interrupted in two locations, namely in the </span><a style=3D"t=
ext-align: justify;" href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/5aZcZoZUa73kzuRk9">Kotal-e=
 Qownaq</a><span style=3D"text-align: justify;"> area of Miramor District, =
and in the </span><a style=3D"text-align: justify;" href=3D"https://goo.gl/=
maps/DCPwfKEtk9VH2m749">Kotal-e Chabalk</a><span style=3D"text-align: justi=
fy;"> area of Shahristan District. The Daykundi-Ghazni road has been closed=
 down in the </span><a style=3D"text-align: justify;" href=3D"https://goo.g=
l/maps/WCMTcRcLME5vZqz88">Chahar Sad Khana</a><span style=3D"text-align: ju=
stify;"> area of Miramor District. In Kiti District, access along the centr=
al road connecting Kiti, Khadir, and Kajran districts has been cut in the <=
/span><a style=3D"text-align: justify;" href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/JHQ63W1=
x4e9uTuwE6">Woyeer</a><span style=3D"text-align: justify;"> area.<br /><br =
/></span><span style=3D"text-align: justify;">NGOs are advised to review th=
e viability of existing movement plans through Daykundi Province based on t=
he latest route closures. Non-essential ground movements along affected mai=
n roads should be reconsidered.<br /><br /></span><span style=3D"text-align=
: justify;">NGOs are further advised to seek to confirm the status of both =
main and secondary roads they intend to use for road movements through loca=
l intermediaries as close to departure as possible.<br /><br /></span><span=
 style=3D"text-align: justify;">Adequate maintenance should be ensured for =
all NGO vehicles used in planned movements and the presence of necessary em=
ergency items (e.g. first aid kit, drinking water reserve, spare warm cloth=
ing) should be confirmed prior to departure.<br /><br /></span><span style=
=3D"text-align: justify;">While travelling along roads affected by snowfall=
, NGO vehicles should travel with reduced speed and full lights in order to=
 maximise visibility. Conducting road movements outside settlements between=
 dusk and dawn is strongly discouraged.</span></div>								</div>
