Leave a group or unsubscribe from emails

If you no longer want to participate in a group or receive the group=E2=80=
=99s=20
emails, you have 2 options:

- *Unsubscribe from getting email from the group*=E2=80=94You=E2=80=99re=
 still a member=20
   of the group, but you no longer receive emails when there=E2=80=99s acti=
vity.
   - *Leave the group*=E2=80=94After you take this action, you can no longe=
r access=20
   the group if it's not public.

Unsubscribe from a group

You can stop getting emails from a group by changing your settings or=20
leaving the group.

1. Sign in to Google Groups <https://groups.google.com/>.
   2. Locate the group you want choose an option:
      - To stay in the group but stop getting emails, under *Subscription*,=
=20
      click the displayed optionselect *No email*.
      - To leave the group and stop getting emails, click Leave group *Yes,=
=20
      leave group*.

Problems leaving a group

If you=E2=80=99re signed in to a work or school account, you can't leave an=
y group=20
that your administrator has set to include all members.

If you tried to unsubscribe from receiving any emails and still get=20
unwanted emails, make sure that:

- You unsubscribed using the same email address that gets the=20
   group emails.
   - You know whether the emails are forwarded from another address.
   - You=E2=80=99re not signed up for the group with more than one email ad=
dress.
   - The group you left isn=E2=80=99t nested in another group. You will kee=
p=20
   getting emails from the second group, unless you leave it also.
   - You're on the desktop version of Groups. You can only leave a group=20
   from the desktop site.
