ployed from Mazar-e Sharif City, the armed clash in the&nbsp;<a href=3D"htt=
ps://goo.gl/maps/yDUhuMag9rbmJHrC6">Kodi Barq</a>&nbsp;intersection area en=
ded. No casualties were reported.<strong><br /><br /></strong>The previous =
advisory remains in place.<strong><br /><br />As of 12 August, 13:45 hrs:&n=
bsp;</strong>At 1315 hrs,&nbsp; OAG members attacked the ANSF position in t=
he&nbsp;<a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/yDUhuMag9rbmJHrC6">Kodi Barq</a>&nbs=
p;intersection area with SAF and RPGs. The armed clash is ongoing.<br /><br=

e district arrived to support other OAG members during the fighting. The ar=
med clash is not intense, but it can escalate in the next few hours.<br /><=

rong>&nbsp;At around 2200 hrs last night ANSF members withdrew 1 km northea=
st to the&nbsp;<a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/totApX9mHhd6dHkB8">Kodi Barg =
intersection</a>. OAG members temporarily overran the outpost in Puli Imam =
Bukri and set it on fire. A sporadic armed clash was ongoing until 0100 hrs=
 early this morning, when AAF conducted at least one airstrike targeting OA=
G members in the Puli Imam Burkri area; the airstrike resulted in casualtie=
s, however, figures are unknown as of the time of writing.<br /><br /></div=

ong>&nbsp;At approximately 1330 hrs OAG members again initiated an attack o=
n an ANSF position in&nbsp;<a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/yJSdRA9kkiBVPZad9=
">Puli Imam Bukri</a>, using SAF and RPGs. ANSF returned fire, and an armed=
 clash is currently ongoing.<br />&nbsp;</div>

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 10 August, 0900 hrs:</str=
ong>&nbsp;ANSF managed to resist the OAG attacks last night, and there are =
no changes in the frontlines as of the time of writing.&nbsp;<br /><br />Th=
e Langar Khana area, the armed clash lasted until 0200 hrs. AAF conducted a=
t least four airstrikes, killing approximately 40 OAG members and damaging =
a large number of motorcycles, vehicles and weapons. Three PGM members were=
 wounded during the armed clash.<br /><br />In the Tokhta Bala area, the ar=
med clash concluded at around 2300 hrs, after eight OAG members were killed=
, and four OAG and two ANSF members were wounded. Yesterday, at approximate=
ly 1500 hrs, AAF conducted at least one airstrike, killing 16 OAG members.<=
br /><br />In the Dahi Sawar area, the armed clash also ended at around 223=
0 hrs, this time with no casualties reported.<br /><br />Armed clashes also=
 took place last night in the&nbsp;<a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/yJSdRA9kk=
iBVPZad9">Puli Imam Bukri</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/=
bWvj4vpCytQzcsML6">Khasa Paz</a>&nbsp;areas in Dehdadi District, as well as=
 the&nbsp;<a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/tuZ1eobhf67yqwzt9">Nasir Khesraw B=
alkhi</a>&nbsp;area in Nahr-e Shahi. In Puli Imam Burki, the clash conclude=
d at approximately midnight, with eight OAG members killed and six ANSF mem=
bers wounded, including the ANA brigade commander and Qurban Shah, a mid-le=
vel PGM commander affiliated to former provincial governor Atta Mohammad No=
or. In Khasa Paz, AAF conducted at least one airstrike targeting an OAG gat=
hering in the area, killing 14 OAG members. The OAG members were planning t=
o move to Tokhta Kalan,&nbsp; but this was prevented by the airstrike. In N=
asir Khesraw Balkhi, the clash concluded at around 0020 hrs, with two ANSF =
members wounded and an unknown number of OAG casualties; this clash was har=
assing in nature.<br /><br />Finally, at around 0600 hrs this morning, OAG =
members fired at least five mortars round towards&nbsp;<a href=3D"https://g=
oo.gl/maps/Tb9nxb2CVazL8ypF9">ANA 209 Corps compound</a>&nbsp;in Dehdadi. T=
he projectiles were fired from the west of the camp and impacted open areas=
, causing no casualties or damage.&nbsp;<br /><br />Further clashes in Dehd=
adi and Nahr-e Shahi can be expected in the coming 24-48 hrs.&nbsp;<br /><b=
r />Meanwhile, a new ANA 209 Corps commander was appointed last night, name=
ly Zabiullah Mohamand, who used to command the 207 corps in the west of the=
 country. His appointment may alleviate some of the concerns with lack of l=
eadership in the ANSF in the north.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>

ong>&nbsp;OAG members attacked ANSF outposts in Langar Khana area of Nahr-e=
 Shahi District and Dahi Sawar area of Dehdadi District, the latter of whic=
h is located on the Mazar-e Sharif-Shibirghan Road.&nbsp;<br /><br />Since =
the initial SMS alert, armed clashes were also confirmed to be ongoing in t=
he Pul-e Imam Bukri area, along the Dehdadi-Chimtal Road.&nbsp;<br /><br />=
As of the time of writing, ANSF are resisting, and AAF is active in both ar=
eas. Reports of a collapse of western frontlines could not be confirmed as =
of the time of writing. The clashes are high-intensity and a large number o=
f OAG members were reportedly arriving over the course of today in Dehdadi =
and Nahr-e Shahi, with an aim to challenge ANSF control on the western and =
northern outskirts of Mazar-e Sharif.&nbsp;<br /><br />Former vice-presiden=
t Abdul Rashid Dostum is expected to arrive tonight to Mazar - though from =
here he will most likely travel to Shibirghan - while former Balkh provinci=
al governor Atta Mohammad Noor remains in the provincial capital. Even with=
 the departure to Kabul of the 209 corps commander, local warlords are like=
ly to resist an attempted IEA incursion into Mazar, and the central governm=
ent is expected to send reinforcements, as needed.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">NGOs are advised to avoid the areas. In=
 addition, given the likelihood of further attacks to the west and north of=
 the city, NGOs are advised to avoid unessential movements towards these ou=
tskirts of Mazar-e Sharif, and, if movement is needed, consult with INSO or=
 other trusted sources regarding the state of the roads heading out of Maza=
r.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
