ployed from Mazar-e Sharif City, the armed clash in the <a href=3D"https://=

sualties were reported.</div>

trong>At 1315 hrs,&nbsp; OAG members attacked the ANSF position in the <a h=
ref=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/yDUhuMag9rbmJHrC6">Kodi Barq</a> intersection ar=
ea with SAF and RPGs. The armed clash is ongoing.<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">Reportedly, OAG members from outside th=
e district arrived to support other OAG members during the fighting. The ar=
med clash is not intense, but it can escalate in the next few hours.<br /><=
br /></div>
The previous advisory remains in place.&nbsp;<br /><br />
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 11 August, 11:30 hrs:</st=
rong> At around 2200 hrs last night ANSF members withdrew 1 km northeast to=
 the <a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/totApX9mHhd6dHkB8">Kodi Barg intersecti=
on</a>. OAG members temporarily overran the outpost in Puli Imam Bukri and =
set it on fire. A sporadic armed clash was ongoing until 0100 hrs early thi=
s morning, when AAF conducted at least one airstrike targeting OAG members =
in the Puli Imam Burkri area; the airstrike resulted in casualties, however=
, figures are unknown as of the time of writing.<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">OAG members abandoned the outpost in th=
e area after the AAF airstrike, and ANSF members retook control of the outp=
ost.<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">Further armed clashes are expected to o=
ccur in the next 24 hours as OAG members are in the nearby area.<br /><br /=

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 10 August, 1400 hrs:</str=
ong> At approximately 1330 hrs OAG members again initiated an attack on an =
ANSF position in <a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/yJSdRA9kkiBVPZad9">Puli Ima=
m Bukri</a>, using SAF and RPGs. ANSF returned fire, and an armed clash is =
currently ongoing. &nbsp;</div>
<br />The previous advisory remains in place.&nbsp;<br /><br />
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 10 August, 0900 hrs:</str=
ong> ANSF managed to resist the OAG attacks last night, and there are no ch=
anges in the frontlines as of the time of writing.&nbsp;<br /><br />The Lan=
gar Khana area, the armed clash lasted until 0200 hrs. AAF conducted at lea=
st four airstrikes, killing approximately 40 OAG members and damaging a lar=
ge number of motorcycles, vehicles and weapons. Three PGM members were woun=
ded during the armed clash. <br /><br />In the Tokhta Bala area, the armed =
clash concluded at around 2300 hrs, after eight OAG members were killed, an=
d four OAG and two ANSF members were wounded. Yesterday, at approximately 1=
500 hrs, AAF conducted at least one airstrike, killing 16 OAG members. <br =
/><br />In the Dahi Sawar area, the armed clash also ended at around 2230 h=
rs, this time with no casualties reported. <br /><br />Armed clashes also t=
ook place last night in the <a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/yJSdRA9kkiBVPZad=
9">Puli Imam Bukri</a> and <a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/bWvj4vpCytQzcsML6=
">Khasa Paz</a> areas in Dehdadi District, as well as the <a href=3D"https:=
//goo.gl/maps/tuZ1eobhf67yqwzt9">Nasir Khesraw Balkhi</a> area in Nahr-e Sh=
ahi. In Puli Imam Burki, the clash concluded at approximately midnight, wit=
h eight OAG members killed and six ANSF members wounded, including the ANA =
brigade commander and Qurban Shah, a mid-level PGM commander affiliated to =
former provincial governor Atta Mohammad Noor. In Khasa Paz, AAF conducted =
at least one airstrike targeting an OAG gathering in the area, killing 14 O=
AG members. The OAG members were planning to move to Tokhta Kalan,&nbsp; bu=
t this was prevented by the airstrike. In Nasir Khesraw Balkhi, the clash c=
oncluded at around 0020 hrs, with two ANSF members wounded and an unknown n=
umber of OAG casualties; this clash was harassing in nature. <br /><br />Fi=
nally, at around 0600 hrs this morning, OAG members fired at least five mor=
tars round towards <a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/Tb9nxb2CVazL8ypF9">ANA 20=
9 Corps compound</a> in Dehdadi. The projectiles were fired from the west o=
f the camp and impacted open areas, causing no casualties or damage.&nbsp;<=
br /><br />Further clashes in Dehdadi and Nahr-e Shahi can be expected in t=
he coming 24-48 hrs.&nbsp;<br /><br />Meanwhile, a new ANA 209 Corps comman=
der was appointed last night, namely Zabiullah Mohamand, who used to comman=
d the 207 corps in the west of the country. His appointment may alleviate s=
ome of the concerns with lack of leadership in the ANSF in the north.&nbsp;=

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 09 August, 1845 hrs:</str=
ong> OAG members attacked ANSF outposts in Langar Khana area of Nahr-e Shah=
i District and Dahi Sawar area of Dehdadi District, the latter of which is =
located on the Mazar-e Sharif-Shibirghan Road.&nbsp;<br /><br />Since the i=
nitial SMS alert, armed clashes were also confirmed to be ongoing in the Pu=
l-e Imam Bukri area, along the Dehdadi-Chimtal Road.&nbsp;<br /><br />As of=
 the time of writing, ANSF are resisting, and AAF is active in both areas. =
Reports of a collapse of western frontlines could not be confirmed as of th=
e time of writing. The clashes are high-intensity and a large number of OAG=
 members were reportedly arriving over the course of today in Dehdadi and N=
ahr-e Shahi, with an aim to challenge ANSF control on the western and north=
ern outskirts of Mazar-e Sharif.&nbsp;<br /><br />Former vice-president Abd=
ul Rashid Dostum is expected to arrive tonight to Mazar - though from here =
he will most likely travel to Shibirghan - while former Balkh provincial go=
vernor Atta Mohammad Noor remains in the provincial capital. Even with the =
departure to Kabul of the 209 corps commander, local warlords are likely to=
 resist an attempted IEA incursion into Mazar, and the central government i=
s expected to send reinforcements, as needed.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">NGOs are advised to avoid the areas. In=
 addition, given the likelihood of further attacks to the west and north of=
 the city, NGOs are advised to avoid unessential movements towards these ou=
tskirts of Mazar-e Sharif, and, if movement is needed, consult with INSO or=
 other trusted sources regarding the state of the roads heading out of Maza=
r.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
