rs:</strong> ANSF managed to take control of the <a href=3D"https://goo.gl/=
maps/yPPSEwzkNSzMxvGaA">Tapa Ahmad Beik</a> area, including an ANSF Base in=
 the area, which had earlier been taken by OAG. The manoeuvre pushed OAG me=
mbers back from the area with a combination of ground operations and airstr=
ikes.&nbsp;<br /><br />The operation was supported by IMF air assets which =
conducted at least nine airstrikes during the day, using B52 aeroplanes, ki=
lling approximately 60 OAG members.&nbsp;<br /><br />The ground operation w=
as a combined operation, with elements of ANA, PGMs and ANA Special Forces.=
&nbsp;<br /><br />Despite media reports indicating that ANSF took control o=
f the DAC, OAG members remain in control of the DAC, including the DAC and =
ANP HQ Compound. However, it is highly likely that ANSF will proceed toward=
s the DAC from the Tapa Ahmad Beik area, following today's progress, using =
the reclaimed ANSF base as a starting point. As such, the operation is very=
 likely to continue in the coming days. IMF air support marks a shift in ta=
ctics and priority in the efforts to reclaim the district fully.&nbsp;<br /=
><br />The risk of further armed clashes and further airstrikes remain high=
 in the areas surrounding the Nejrab DAC.&nbsp;</div>								</div>

rs:</strong> ANSF members launched a ground operation, supported by AAF, to=
wards the Nejrab DAC and ANP HQ. Armed clashes are currently ongoing betwee=
n ANSF and OAG members as a result of the operation.<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">At approximately 1100 hrs, AAF conducte=
d at least one airstrike towards OAG positions, using heavy aerial bombs, i=
n the <a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/yPPSEwzkNSzMxvGaA">Tapa Ahmad Beik</a>=
 area, killing 11 OAG members and wounding two.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">Since ANSF members withdrew from the DA=
C area yesterday, they remained in positions in the <a href=3D"https://goo.=
gl/maps/oY8uqNfxWccBtGHA8">Tapa Khaki</a> area and other areas around the D=
AC area. Sporadic armed clashes were reported throughout since yesterday. A=
s a result of these clashes, at least seven ANSF members were wounded, two =
OAG members killed, and nine wounded.&nbsp;<br /><br />As part of the OAG t=
akeover, OAG members managed to take 17 ANSF vehicles, which were left behi=
nd when ANSF withdrew. The ongoing operation is most likely an attempt to r=
eclaim the DAC area and/or destroy material left behind in the withdrawal.&=
nbsp;<br /><br />Further armed clashes are very likely in the DAC area and =
surrounding areas, as are further airstrikes.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">The previous advisory to avoid the area=
 remains in place.<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 09 August, 1830 hrs:</str=
ong> At the above time and location, approximately 400 OAG members commence=
d attacks on ANSF checkpoints and the DAC and ANP HQ. Following initial arm=
ed clashes, most of the ANSF contingent withdrew from the DAC area, predomi=
nantly towards the mountains to the north. Sporadic armed clashes are, howe=
ver, still reported in the outskirts of the DAC area. OAG members now, agai=
n, control the DAC area.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
