rs:</strong> The district remains relatively uneventful, as ANSF retain sta=
tic positions in the DAC and the Jowi Jadid area, while OAG members are con=
fined to the Jok Jok and Kohna Kaldar areas, to the very east of the distri=
ct. The lack of OAG activity is attributable to the relative weakness of th=
e IEA in the district, with the armed opposition likely awaiting additional=
 support before once more attempting an offensive - support which is unlike=
ly to arrive in the short term.&nbsp;<br /><br />The Mazar-e Sharif-Hairata=
n Road is open to all traffic, however, the Hairatan border remains closed =
from the Uzbek side for the movement of people since 02 July, due to concer=
ns over COVID-19. Cargo continues to go through, however.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br />=
<br />In the west of the district, the road towards the border with Shortep=
a District is under ANSF control for several kilometres outside of Hairatan=
, however, sporadic checks by OAG members do occur. As the ANSF focus remai=
ns on the eastern side of Kaldar, clearing operations towards Shortepa are =
unlikely in the short term.&nbsp; &nbsp;</div>								</div>

:</strong> ANSF personnel remain in the Kaldar DAC area and in Jowi Jadid, =
while OAG members are positioned in Jok Jok and Kohna Kaldar. <br /><br />T=
here have been no further clashes since the previous update. However, OAG m=
embers are expected to attack the ANSF position in Jowi Jadid again within =
the next 24 hours, while ANSF members are likely to conduct further operati=
ons in the DAC area.&nbsp;</div>

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 27 July, 0945 hrs:</stron=
g> ANSF personnel continued the clearing operation in Jowi Jadid and Kaldar=
 DAC on the afternoon and evening of 26 July. AAF conducted a series of air=
strikes against OAG members in Jowi Jadid and Kaldar DAC, also carrying out=
 strikes in Aregh Ayaq, Aregh Bator, and Jok Jok. The strikes killed 20 OAG=
 members and wounded 30 more OAG members.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">ANSF personnel also conducted a ground =
operation, attacking OAG members in Jowi Jadid and killing four OAG members=
. During the operation ANSF members seized firearms, cars, and motorcycles =
belonging to OAG members.&nbsp;<br /><br />ANSF members reportedly plan to =
continue operations in Kaldar District, aiming to clear all areas of the di=
strict. It was unclear at the time of writing whether ANSF personnel would =
establish further outposts or checkpoints in Kaldar as part of their operat=
ions.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">The previous advisory remains in place =
due to the likelihood of further exchanges of fire and the potential for ai=
rstrikes in the title areas.&nbsp;</div>

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 26 July, 1815 hrs:</stron=
g> ANSF personnel remain in the DAC compound and in position in Jowi Jadid,=
 with no further clashes reported since 1230 hrs. <br /><br />ANSF members =
conducted a clearing operation in Kohna Kaldar and the area around the DAC,=
 while OAG members withdrew to areas close to the border with Kunduz Provin=
ce. Reports indicate approximately 300 OAG members are still present in Jow=
i Jadid and Kaldar DAC. AAF helicopters are in the area to support ground t=
roops.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">The likelihood of further exchanges of =
fire within the next 12 hours in the Kaldar DAC, Jowi Jadid, and Tazlaq are=
as remains high. AAF are also likely to conduct airstrikes in the event of =
further clashes.&nbsp;<br /><br />The previous advisory remains in place du=
e to the likelihood of further exchanges of fire and the potential for airs=
trikes in the title areas.&nbsp;</div>

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 26 July, 1230 hrs:</stron=
g> OAG members attacked ANSF personnel in Jowi Jadid at 1215 hrs, detonatin=
g an IED against an ANSF vehicle and opening fire with RPGs and SAF.&nbsp;<=
br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">During the armed clash, approximately 1=
00 PGM members travelled from Jowi Jadid to Kaldar DAC and retook the DAC c=
ompound at 1220 hrs. OAG members left the DAC without a firefight and moved=
 to the east of the DAC.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">The remaining ANSF personnel from Jowi =
Jadid were travelling to Kaldar DAC at the time of writing. OAG members als=
o left the Jowi Jadid area and the firefight ended.&nbsp;<br /><br />The li=
kelihood of further exchanges of fire within the next 12 hours in the Kalda=
r DAC, Jowi Jadid, and Tazlaq areas is high.&nbsp;</div>
<br />The previous advisory remains in place and is extended to the Kaldar =
DAC area.&nbsp;<br /><br />
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 26 July, 0930 hrs:</stron=
g> The armed clash ended at 0000 hrs, when ANSF personnel supported by rein=
forcements from Mazar-e Sharif City returned to Jowi Jadid and forced OAG m=
embers to withdraw from the area.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">The clash killed one ANSF member and th=
ree OAG members, wounding a further five ANSF members. ANSF personnel captu=
red two OAG members during the clash.&nbsp;<br /><br />At the time of writi=
ng ANSF members reported no plans for further operations in the Kaldar DAC =
area. However, further attacks on the ANSF position in Jowi Jadid are highl=
y likely within the next 12-24 hours.&nbsp;</div>
<br />The previous advisory remains in place.<br /><br />
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 25 July, 2210 hrs:</stron=
g> OAG members attacked the ANSF personnel in Jowi Jadid at 2130 hrs and an=
 armed clash broke out.<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">ANSF members withdrew from Jowi Jadid a=
nd were travelling to Tazlaq at the time of writing. The exchange of fire w=
as ongoing.&nbsp;</div>
<br />The previous advisory remains in place.<br /><br />
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 25 July, 1400 hrs:</stron=
g> Both ANSF personnel and OAG members remain in the Jowi Jadid area. While=
 ANSF members report no plans to conduct an operation in the next 24 hours,=
 the likelihood of further harassing attacks by OAG members against the ANS=
F position in the next 24 hours remains high.&nbsp;<br /><br />The previous=
 advisory remains in place.</div>

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 24 July, 0930 hrs:</stron=
g> ANSF members remain in position in the Jowi Jadid area, but have made no=
 further attempts to regain control of Kaldar DAC.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /><br /><=

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">OAG members attacked the ANSF personnel=
 in Jowi Jadid on 23 July, with no casualties reported after a brief firefi=
ght. AAF then conducted an airstrike against OAG members at 1700 hrs, killi=
ng 15 OAG members.&nbsp;<br /><br />The previous advisory remains in place.=
&nbsp;</div>

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 19 July, 2115 hrs:</stron=
g> The armed clash ended at approximately 1950 hrs, with one OAG member kil=
led and two wounded.<br />&nbsp;</div>

a and OAG members are expected to attack ANSF personnel again within the ne=
xt 12-24 hours.&nbsp;<br /><br />The previous advisory remains in place.&nb=

g> At 1800 hrs OAG members attacked ANSF personnel in the Jowi Jadid area u=
sing RPGs and SAF. An armed clash is now ongoing.&nbsp;</div>

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 19 July, 1230 hrs:</stron=
g> ANSF personnel remain in Jowi Jadid, where there have been no further at=
tacks on 19 July. Reports suggest that ANSF members will remain in Jowi Jad=

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">OAG members are in the surrounding area=
 and further harassing attacks on the ANSF members in Jowi Jadid are likely=
.&nbsp;<br /><br />The previous advisory remains in place due to the likeli=
hood of OAG attacks on ANSF members in Jowi Jadid and the possibility of fu=
rther ANSF operations in the area.</div>

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 18 July, 1950 hrs:</stron=
g> The armed clash ended at 1800 hrs, with no reported casualties on either=
 side. OAG members remain in the area and ANSF personnel are still position=
ed in Jowi Jadid.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">ANSF personnel plan to conduct an opera=
tion against OAG members in Kaldar DAC within the next 24 hours. Further ar=
med clashes are therefore expected to occur.&nbsp;<br /><br />The previous =

g> ANSF members were unable to reach Kaldar DAC on 17 July and returned to =
the Jowi Jadid area at 0200 hrs on 18 July.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>

n attacked ANSF personnel in Jowi Jadid, where an armed clash is ongoing.<b=
