:</strong> Since the previous update, clashes of varying intensity have con=
tinued around the security belt of Maymana City, in the <a href=3D"https://=
goo.gl/maps/TcDMXUqnPA4A5iSW9">Bibi Ayena area</a>, as well as Qutur and De=
h Sayedan. The most impactful were several exchanges of IDF between OAG mem=
bers and ANSF, which, although causing limited combatant casualties, collat=
erally affected civilians (see, for example,&nbsp; AFGHANISTAN/NORTH/A/2707=
2021/#001-U1).&nbsp;<br /><br />Meanwhile, earlier this morning, at 0700 hr=
s, OAG members attacked an ANSF outpost using SAF, RPGs, and mortars in the=
 Baba Qoshqar area of Maymana's PD 1, which lasted for over four hours, wit=
hout, however, causing any casualties. Both conflict parties remain in the =
area and further exchanges can be expected in the coming 24-48 hrs.&nbsp;<b=
r /><br />The IEA is seemingly continuing to harass ANSF on the outskirts o=
f provincial capitals in Maymana as well as other cities in the country, pu=
shing and confining government forces closer and closer to the city centres=
. Compared to, for example, Shibirghan, in Maymana ANSF have largely stood =
their ground and withdrawals from the peripheries towards the centre have b=
een minimal so far. There is, furthermore no visible IEA intent for the tim=
e being to carry out a larger assault on the city, with the majority of att=
acks over the past days being harassing in nature.&nbsp;</div>								</div=

:</strong> Since 27 June, OAG members have conducted a series of attacks ag=
ainst ANSF personnel stationed at the security belt checkpoints surrounding=
 Maymana City in Baba Qoshqar, Hemat Abad, Deh Sayedan, Qutur, Kohi Khana, =
and Imam Sahib.&nbsp;<br /><br />The intensity and length of such attacks v=
aries, with the majority being small-scale harassing attacks. Attacks occur=
 frequently, with 34 attacks recorded since 27 June.&nbsp;</div>

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">NGOs are advised to avoid all movement =
through the security belt checkpoints and the title locations. The risk of =
collateral damage or involvement in a firefight remains very high, as armed=
 clashes may break out at any time of day without warning.&nbsp;<br /><br /=
>In addition, NGOs with staff living in areas close to security belt checkp=
oints are advised to ensure that communication and reporting channels with =
their staff remain operational.<br /><br /></div>
