 conducted a series of attacks against ANSF personnel stationed at the secu=
rity belt checkpoints surrounding Maymana City in Baba Qoshqar, Hemat Abad,=
 Deh Sayedan, Qutur, Kohi Khana, and Imam Sahib.&nbsp;<br /><br />The inten=
sity and length of such attacks varies, with the majority being small-scale=
 harassing attacks. Attacks occur frequently, with 34 attacks recorded sinc=

inst the security belt checkpoints surrounding Maymana is highly likely to =
continue over the coming 2 - 4 weeks. <br /><br />Approximately 300 OAG mem=
bers are in the area around Maymana City. OAG members are in control of the=
 surrounding districts, with ANSF personnel pinned back to the security bel=
t checkpoints around the city. There are no signs that ANSF personnel are a=
ble to challenge OAG control of the surrounding area: ANSF personnel have c=
onducted no clearing operations in the area since 28 June, when an ANSF ope=
ration to clear Imam Sahib failed to push OAG members away from the city.&n=
bsp;<br /><br /></div>

hes also remains high. On 19 July, exchanges of fire in Deh Sayedan and Ima=
m Sahib wounded four civilians, while two civilian homes also caught fire.&=

risk of collateral damage or involvement in a firefight remains very high, =
as armed clashes may break out at any time of day without warning.&nbsp;<br=
 /><br />In addition, NGOs with staff living in areas close to security bel=
t checkpoints are advised to ensure that communication and reporting channe=
ls with their staff remain operational.<br /><br /></div>
