:</strong> Heavy fighting is ongoing in the Bandar-e Emam Saheb area, as we=
ll as in the Khwaka Mashhad area of PD 4, since last night. At around midni=
ght, OAG members in the proximity of the Bandar-e Emam Saheb area opened fi=
re on ANSF members that had withdrawn from the Dasht-e Abdan area and were =
proceeding to Kunduz City. Casualties have been reported, however, figures =
remain unknown.<br /><br />Government troops and the armed opposition are s=
poradically exchanging fire in the Sedarak, Bandar-e Kabul, Bandar-e Khanab=
ad, Chella Mazar, and Mullah Sardar areas. At approximately 1300 hrs yester=
day, OAG members attacked an ANSF checkpoint in the Bandar-e Kabul area wit=
h SAF and RPGs. ANSF returned fired and, as a result, two ANSF members were=
 killed, one more was wounded, five OAG members were killed, and two others=
 were wounded.<br /><br />At around 2100 hrs last night, OAG members attack=
ed, using SAF and RPGs, and overran an ANSF checkpoint located in the Sarak=
-e Naw area of PD 2. As a result, three ANSF members were killed, two other=
s were wounded, and two more were taken and reportedly remain in captivity =
as of the time of writing. Roughly one hour later, an estimated 30 ANSF mem=
bers were deployed to the area and retook the checkpoint. OAG members engag=
ed the government forces and the armed clash resulted in three OAG members =
killed and another two wounded.<br /><br />At around 1200 hrs yesterday, in=
 the Maidan-e Pakhta area of PD 3, OAG members attacked an ANSF position wi=
th SAF and RPGs. Four OAG members were killed and three others were wounded=
.<br /><br />AAF was monitoring the security situation in Kunduz City and t=
he surrounding areas yesterday and, at around 1400 hrs, conducted at least =
two airstrikes to target OAG positions in the Khak Kani area of PD 1. Three=
 OAG members were killed and five others were wounded.<br /><br />The ANSF =
members engaged in the operation in the Telawka area returned to Kunduz Cit=
y at around 0900 hrs yesterday.<br /><br />No electricity is available acro=
ss Kunduz City since 20 June.<br /><br />The Kunduz-Taloqan and Kunduz-Emam=
 Saheb roads remain closed to traffic. The Kunduz-Pul-e Khumri Road remains=
 open to traffic, however, the risk of collateral damage if travelling thro=

:</strong> Heavy fighting with SAF and RPGs is ongoing between ANSF and OAG=
 members in the Pul-e Chahardara area of PD 1, along the Kunduz-Chahardara =
Road since 0400 hrs. ANSF and OAG members are still sporadically exchanging=
 fire in the Bandar-e Emam Saheb, Bandar-e Khanabad, Chella Mazar, Mullah S=
ardar, and Sedarak areas, as well as in the Bandar-e Kabul area of PD 1.<br=
 /><br />Yesterday, OAG members surrounded an ANA base located in the <a hr=
ef=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/ptXBjQDF28HWEnS99">Zakhil Qadim</a> area of PD 1,=
 in the proximity of the Kunduz-Chahardara Road, and, at around 1400 hrs, a=
pproximately 30 ANA soldiers surrendered themselves to their armed oppositi=
on along with their weapons. OAG members later released the ANA soldiers.<b=
r /><br />The ANSF members engaged in the operation in Telawka remain posit=
ioned in the area.<br /><br />In the Sedarak area, two ANA soldiers have be=
en killed and three others wounded. Two civilians have been wounded in the =
crossfire.<br /><br />No electricity is being provided to Kunduz City since=
 20 June. Electricity installations have been damaged due to the exchange o=
f fire in the Dasht-e Abdan area, in the north of Kunduz District. The elec=
tricity department is reportedly planning to fix the installations in the a=
rea.<br /><br />The Kunduz-Taloqan and Kunduz-Emam Saheb roads remain close=
d to traffic. The Kunduz-Pul-e Khumri Road remains open to traffic, however=
, the risk of collateral damage if travelling through this route is assesse=

r-e Emam Saheb, Bandar-e Khanabad, Chella Mazar, Mullah Sardar, and Sedarak=
 areas. A number of OAG members had reportedly taken position in private co=
mpounds in Sedarak.<br /><br />At around 1915 hrs today, OAG members fired =
SAF against a PGM checkpoint located in the <a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/=
Dmpr15Wqm7L5gxP59">Kart-e Fayzabad</a> area of PD 4, in Kunduz City. PGM me=
mbers returned fire.<br /><br />The ANSF members engaged in the operation i=
n Telawka remain positioned in the area.<br /><br />Total number of casualt=
ies remain unclear.<br /><br />As has been the case over the past years, pr=
ivate telecommunication network providers have interrupted their service in=
 Kunduz Province in the evening hours, with the government-owned Salaam as =
the only phone network operating at night-time. The Salaam network is still=
 unstable.<br /><br />The provision of electricity has been interrupted in =
parts of Kunduz City.<br /><br />The Kunduz-Taloqan and Kunduz-Emam Saheb r=
oads remain closed to traffic. The Kunduz-Pul-e Khumri Road remains open to=
 traffic, however, the risk of collateral damage if travelling through this=
 route is assessed to be high due to increased conflict activity in Kunduz,=
 Aliabad, and Baghlan-e Jadid districts.<br /><br />The previous advisory r=

d at the checkpoint located in the Chella Mazar area proceeded to Bandar-e =
Khanabad as reinforcements.<br /><br />ANSF and OAG members had been sporad=
ically exchanging fire in the Chella Mazar area until approximately 1700 hr=
s today. Casualties have been reported, however, figures remain unknown as =
of the time of writing.<br /><br />The armed clash that erupted in the Band=
ar-e Emam Saheb area of PD 2, along the Kunduz-Emam Saheb Road (see AFGHANI=
