:</strong> Heavy fighting with SAF and RPGs is ongoing between ANSF and OAG=
 members in the Pul-e Chahardara area of PD 1, along the Kunduz-Chahardara =
Road since 0400 hrs. ANSF and OAG members are still sporadically exchanging=
 fire in the Bandar-e Emam Saheb, Bandar-e Khanabad, Chella Mazar, Mullah S=
ardar, and Sedarak areas, as well as in the Bandar-e Kabul area of PD 1.<br=
 /><br />Yesterday, OAG members surrounded an ANA base located in the <a hr=
ef=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/ptXBjQDF28HWEnS99">Zakhil Qadim</a> area of PD 1,=
 in the proximity of the Kunduz-Chahardara Road, and, at around 1400 hrs, a=
pproximately 30 ANA soldiers surrendered themselves to their armed oppositi=
on along with their weapons. OAG members later released the ANA soldiers.<b=
r /><br />The ANSF members engaged in the operation in Telawka remain posit=
ioned in the area.<br /><br />In the Sedarak area, two ANA soldiers have be=
en killed and three others wounded. Two civilians have been wounded in the =
crossfire.<br /><br />No electricity is being provided to Kunduz City since=
 20 June. Electricity installations have been damaged due to the exchange o=
f fire in the Dasht-e Abdan area, in the north of Kunduz District. The elec=
tricity department is reportedly planning to fix the installations in the a=
rea.<br /><br />The Kunduz-Taloqan and Kunduz-Emam Saheb roads remain close=
d to traffic. The Kunduz-Pul-e Khumri Road remains open to traffic, however=
, the risk of collateral damage if travelling through this route is assesse=

ivate compounds in Sedarak.<br /><br />At around 1915 hrs today, OAG member=
s fired SAF against a PGM checkpoint located in the <a href=3D"https://goo.=
gl/maps/Dmpr15Wqm7L5gxP59">Kart-e Fayzabad</a> area of PD 4, in Kunduz City=
. PGM members returned fire.<br /><br />The ANSF members engaged in the ope=
ration in Telawka remain positioned in the area.<br /><br />Total number of=
 casualties remain unclear.<br /><br />As has been the case over the past y=
ears, private telecommunication network providers have interrupted their se=
rvice in Kunduz Province in the evening hours, with the government-owned Sa=
laam as the only phone network operating at night-time. The Salaam network =
is still unstable.<br /><br />The provision of electricity has been interru=
pted in parts of Kunduz City.<br /><br />The Kunduz-Taloqan and Kunduz-Emam=
 Saheb roads remain closed to traffic. The Kunduz-Pul-e Khumri Road remains=
 open to traffic, however, the risk of collateral damage if travelling thro=
ugh this route is assessed to be high due to increased conflict activity in=
 Kunduz, Aliabad, and Baghlan-e Jadid districts.<br /><br />The previous ad=

r-e Emam Saheb, Bandar-e Khanabad, and Chella Mazar areas.<br /><br />Furth=
ermore, ANSF and OAG members have been sporadically exchanging fire, SAF an=
d RPGs, in the <a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/4ZdrqGkAPBWbBhby7">Sedarak</a=
> area of PD 1, along the Kunduz-Pul-e Khumri Road, and in the north of the=
 district, in the <a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/fuBhE3YWMYx1SPpJ6">Mullah =
Sardar</a> area, along the Kunduz-Emam Saheb Road.<br /><br />An ANSF opera=
tion targeting OAG positions is ongoing in the north of the district, in th=
e <a href=3D"https://goo.gl/maps/qax4RqyY2P45Px9J7">Telawka</a> area. An es=
timated 100 ANSF (ANA and ANP) and PGM members are involved in the operatio=
n since the early morning hours of yesterday.<br /><br />Further causalties=
 have been reported, however, figures remain unknown.<br /><br />The Kunduz=
-Taloqan and Kunduz-Emam Saheb roads remain closed to traffic. The Kunduz-P=
ul-e Khumri Road remains open to traffic, however, the risk of collateral d=
amage if travelling through this route is assessed to be high due to increa=

g> OAG members attacked ANSF members positioned in the Bandar-e Khanabad ar=
ea of PD 2, Kunduz City, at around 1730 hrs today. ANSF responded and an ar=
med clash is ongoing in the area. The government troops that were positione=
d at the checkpoint located in the Chella Mazar area proceeded to Bandar-e =
Khanabad as reinforcements.<br /><br />ANSF and OAG members had been sporad=
ically exchanging fire in the Chella Mazar area until approximately 1700 hr=
s today. Casualties have been reported, however, figures remain unknown as =
of the time of writing.<br /><br />The armed clash that erupted in the Band=
ar-e Emam Saheb area of PD 2, along the Kunduz-Emam Saheb Road (see AFGHANI=
STAN/NORTHEAST/A/20062021/#005), at around 1715 hrs today is still ongoing.=
<br /><br />The Kunduz-Taloqan and Kunduz-Emam Saheb roads remain closed to=
 traffic. The Kunduz-Pul-e Khumri Road remains open to traffic, however, th=
e risk of collateral damage if travelling through this route is assessed to=
 be high due to increased conflict activity recently in Aliabad District (s=
ee AFGHANISTAN/NORTHEAST/A/13062021/#001-U4) and Baghlan-e Jadid District, =
in Baghlan Province (see AFGHANISTAN/NORTHEAST/A/15062021/#001-U2).<br /><b=
r />The previous advisory remains in place.<br /><br />In addition, NGOs wi=
th staff present in the area are recommended to initiate headcount procedur=
es and advise their staff to remain indoors, away from windows, and conside=
r to seek shelter inside safe rooms or hardened structures.<br /><br />NGOs=
 are further advised to ensure that communication and reporting channels wi=
th their staff remain operational.</div>
