reportedly withdrawn from the Bangi DAC area due to ammunition shortage and=
 no government reinforcements to support them. Earlier this month, OAG memb=
ers had overrun the Bolol and Pul-e Bangi areas of Bangi, approached the DA=
C area and temporarily took control of the Bangi-Ishkamish Road (see AFGHAN=
ISTAN/NORTHEAST/A/11062021/#001-U4).<br /><br />Over the past months, OAG m=
embers have gained notable territorial control across the country, includin=
g in Takhar and neighboring provinces, with pro-government forces often ret=
reating to avoid heavy casualties or local actors mediating to avoid furthe=
r violence. In this context, the armed opposition took control of the Ishka=
mish DAC area on 10 June (see AFGHANISTAN/NORTHEAST/A/10062021/#003-U3) and=
 Baharak DAC on 18 June (see AFGHANISTAN/NORTHEAST/A/17062021/#001-U4). In =
addition, OAG members also challenged the ANSF/PGM control of the Chahab DA=
C area on 08 June (see AFGHANISTAN/NORTHEAST/A/07062021/#002-U5) and Khwaja=
ghar DAC on 19 June (see AFGHANISTAN/NORTHEAST/A/19062021/#002).<br /><br /=
>As of the time of writing, it is unclear whether OAG members will attempt =
to retain control of the Bangi DAC and above-mentioned areas or, on the con=
trary, will withdraw in the coming days or weeks. ANSF, on their side, are =
prioritizing their positions in different parts of the Northeastern Region =
and elsewhere, rather than trying to immediately retake control of all area=
s lost recently. Whether pro-government forces will launch clearing operati=
ons in Takhar soon remains unclear.</div>								</div>

er districts witnessing conflict activity recently are advised to limit non=
-essential movements for the time being, considering the risk of collateral=
 damage and the possibility of escalation. In this sense, NGO staff should =
consider, particularly, the risk of IED contamination along primary and sec=
ondary roads and airstrikes targeting positions of warring parties.</div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><br />Furthermore, NGOs are advised to =
consider changes in territorial control, with the staff prepared to explain=
 their programming, emphasizing the neutral, impartial, and independent nat=
ure of their work.<br /><br />In addition, humanitarian agencies are recomm=
ended to closely monitor conflict activity in Takhar and neighbouring provi=
nces. NGOs should maintain close contact with local networks and interlocut=
ors for up-to-date information on the evolving security situation.<br /><br=
