</strong> The ANSF reinforcement did still not reach Nerkh DAC area. It is =
currently unknown whether the operation is postponed due to the Eid ceasefi=
re or whether ANSF is delayed by the need to clear IEDs on the route. It is=
, however, likely that the operation was paused as ANSF dint manage to arri=
ve in Nerkh DAC area by yesterday evening due to IEDs on the route and will=
 be resumed after Eid. However, it can not be ruled out that the operation =
will proceed despite the Eid ceasefire.<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">OAG members are still present in the DA=
C area, where they continue to exercise territorial control.</div>

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">NGOs are advised to continue avoiding t=
he area and inform staff about the high likelihood of armed clashes in the =
area when ANSF proceeds to try and regain territorial control.&nbsp;</div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><br />NGOs are furthermore recommended =
to monitor conflict activity in the area and surrounding areas closely.</di=
v>

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 12 May, 2130 hrs:</strong=
> Reinforcement of approximately 200 ANSF members (ANA, ANP and Special For=
ces) are currently moving from Maydanshahr to the Nerkh DAC area, supported=
 by AAF, to reclaim territorial control of the area. However, the convoy is=
 slowed by clearing IEDs emplaced on the route and are not expected to arri=
ve before late in the evening or in the morning hours of 13 May.&nbsp;<br /=
><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">OAG members are still present in the DA=
C area, where they continue to exercise territorial control. However, the A=
NSF members abducted on 11 May were released this morning at approximately =
0830 hrs, after being forcibly agreeing not to resume fighting for ANSF.&nb=
sp;<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">Armed clashes are expected as ANSF arri=
ve in the DAC area, and proceed to regain control of the area.&nbsp;<br /><=
br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">NGOs are advised to continue avoiding t=
he area and inform staff about the high likelihood of armed clashes in the =
area as ANSF arrive and proceed to regain territorial control.&nbsp;</div>

<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 11 May, 2045 hrs:</strong=
> OAG members took over territorial control of the Nerkh DAC area.&nbsp;</d=
iv>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">The 200 ANSF members who arrived to rei=
nforce the DAC in the evening hours of 10 April returned to Maydan Shahr Di=
strict at approximate 1315 hrs today, 11 April, as OAG member was assessed =
to have withdrawn.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">At approximately 2000 hrs, OAG members =
launched an attack, quickly taking control of the area and the DAC and ANP =
HQ (one compound). Approximately 100-150 OAG members were involved in the a=
ttack, which lasted for approximately 30-45 minutes.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div=
>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">Three ANSF members were wounded in the =
attack, and the remaining 47 ANSF members reportedly surrendered after the =
initial clash. The 50 ANSF members (including the three wounded) were subse=
quently abducted and most likely remains in OAG custody.&nbsp;<br /><br /><=
/div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">OAG members partly burned down the DAC =
and ANP HQ buildings and seized the vehicles, weapons, and ammunition at th=
e location.</div>
<br />
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">NGOs are advised to avoid the area and =
inform staff about the incident and the current changes in territorial cont=
rol.&nbsp;</div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><br />NGOs are furthermore recommended =
to closely monitor conflict activity in the area and surrounding areas.</di=
v>
<br />
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;"><strong>As of 11 May, 1115 hrs:</strong=
> The armed clash has now ended. The clash was ongoing until the evening ho=
urs of 10 May, with sporadic SAF from both sides reported throughout the da=
y. No further advancements from either side were observed, and territorial =
control was not challenged.&nbsp;<br /><br />At approximately 2100 hrs on 1=
0 May, reinforcements of around 200 ANSF members arrived at Nerkh DAC from =
Maydan Shahr District. Shortly after the arrival of reinforcement, OAG memb=
ers withdrew from the area and no clashes have been reported since. The ANS=
F reinforcement cleared two IEDs during the response and remains in Nerkh D=
AC.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">OAG members enjoy freedom of movement w=
ithin Nerkh District and the periphery of the DAC, with ANSF controlling th=
e DAC and main roads leading into the DAC area. OAG freedom of movement mos=
t likely allowed OAG members to position themselves strategically around th=
e DAC in preparation for the attack.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">ANA controls outposts and checkpoints a=
round the DAC, including checkpoint on the main roads leading into the DAC =
and 360 degrees around the DAC area. ANP controls the DAC area, including t=
he DAC and ANP HQ compound (one compound).<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">The attack was engaging ANA checkpoints=
 on the north, east, south and west of the DAC area while simultaneously en=
gaging the DAC and ANP HQ.&nbsp;<br /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">The tempo of the attack was relatively =
low throughout, with only sporadic SAF from both sides. While it is unknown=
, the motive of the attack could have been to test ANSF ability to defend t=
erritorial control and conduct recognisance of ANSF response and reinforcem=
ents for future attacks, more than actually attempting to challenge territo=
rial control. As such, the armed clash could potentially resume during the =
day or possibly more likely after Eid at an increased intensity. However, n=
othing currently indicates an imminent intent to resume the attack.&nbsp;<b=
r /><br /></div>
<div style=3D"text-align: justify;">The previous advisory to avoid the area=
 is now lifted, however, NGOs are still advised to closely monitor conflict=
 activity in the area.&nbsp;</div>
